Playing in the Percussion Ensemble

|

John Brainard (A&S '90):

I have great memories of playing in the Pitt Percussion Ensemble. As a music student, I spent a great deal of time practicing, learning, and rehearsing in the Music Building. Sometimes our "marathon sessions" went for eight hours a day. Concerts were performed at Bellefield Hall. I also played in the Pitt Drumline [the percussion section of the University of Pittsburgh Marching Band] for two years.

Every time I walk in Oakland past those buildings, all the memories of those days at Pitt return.
